About The Edwinola

The Edwinola is beautiful the three-story building with Doric columns, wrap-around porches and a Mansard roof.  Everyday at we offer an exciting opportunity of activities, friendship and relaxed living for your loved one.

The Edwinola was originally built in 1912 as a hotel. The name “Edwinola” is a combination of the original owners names, Edwin and Lola Gasque. Since it’s construction, it has been a favorite destination of travelers coming to the Dade City, FL area. The Edwinola would eventually go on to serve as a private residence, a restaurant, and in the 1980’s, it was turned into a retirement community.

Today, The Edwinola has gone through numerous renovations and re-openings (the most recent in Spring of 2017) as an Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care community. In addition to having new owners and management, renovations occurred in 2016 to enhance the current state of the building. These renovations were focused on upgrading the safety systems throughout the facility, updating the porch and sidewalk to meet ADA standards, general repairs and painting, and updating resident rooms to include Independent Living kitchenettes.

RETIREMENT LIVING:  Designed to simplify day-to-day life for older adults while encouraging them to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. These communities are perfect for anyone 55 years or older who want to leave home ownership/maintenance behind and enjoy the luxuries of the many amenities our community offers. Independent care is ideal for individuals who want to live independently but still want access to assistance when needed. At our community, we offer a communal feel with a variety of high-end amenities to help residents maintain an independent lifestyle. This independent living lifestyle offers residents a safe environment where residents do not have to worry about safety, maintenance, or home ownership.

ASSISTED LIVING:  For those that need a little extra help with day to day activities, we offer spacious floor plans that will meet your needs.  The main benefit of assisted living is the fact that the seniors are able to remain independent while still having necessary care nearby. Assisted living offers a level of care that is perfect for seniors who do not need the full-time attention of a nursing home or hospital, but still need assistance with small things like meals, transportation, medication management and basic daily activities.

MEMORY CARE:  Our memory care community is designed to enhance our residents’ quality of life, preserve their sense of independence, and uphold their dignity. 

The main goal of memory care is to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s or dementia, not treat it. But in addition to that, we make it a point to enable the person dealing with this condition to feel a sense of purpose and enjoyment on a daily basis. This is accomplished through daily activities designed to engage residents mentally in an effort to reduce the effects of Alzheimer’s or dementia.  Our memory care community has an expertly trained staff and access to top-of-the-line resources designed to help accomplish our goal.

RESPITE CARE:  We offer short-term stay options for those recovering from surgery or for a loved one simply needing extra care while you are away.  The amount of time each resident stays at our facility will depend on their needs; it can be as little as a few weeks or as long as a few months.  we provide day-to-day personal care services — like helping with dressing, bathing, and using the bathroom. Our respite care program also includes gourmet meals tailored to the needs of our residents. These meals also give residents the opportunity to socialize with each other, which can be a great thing for improving morale and overall mental health.
